David Riley lives in Prescott, AZ and is a freelance illustrator, portrait and caricature artist. After growing up in Kalamazoo, MI, David started his BFA at the University of Michigan in their Illustration program. He transferred to the Savannah College of Art and Design and finished his BFA in Illustration there. After freelancing for several years in Michigan, he returned to Savannah and earned his MFA in Illustration. David Riley is inspired by the story- telling ability of art, and the joy of capturing the essence of people. Most of his art work is centered on people and their experiences or attitudes. He primarily works with acrylics, but enjoys mixing media and working with colored pencils, watercolors, and oils. David is the art director, co-owner and co-founder of Red Kite Studio. Red Kite Studio is a graduate owned and operated gallery in Savannah that showcases student and professional art in Illustration and other fields of art. David’s original work is currently on display at the Red Kite Studio and at the Frame & I Gallery in Prescott, AZ.
