Karl Kendall has been creating artwork since he was a small boy in Indiana. Inspired by the beauty of the natural world and the elegance of good design, Karl enrolled in the John Herron School of Fine Art after high school. His creative ability caught the eye of General Motors, and after college he was hired as a design modeler for them in Pontiac, Michigan. Design modeling was fascinating for Karl, because it involved building life size sculptural models of vehicles. Some of the vehicles he helped to design are still on the road today! Mr. Kendall's accomplishments include sculpting the "Mississinewa Battle, War of 1812" battlefield monument for Marion, Indiana, several sculptural enlargements in and around the City of Prescott, as well as many sculptural enlargements for private artists. He is currently working on a commission for the Navajo Nation, depicting a Native American soldier in Viet Nam. It is a tribute to the Native American soldiers who sacrificed so much, and yet to this day receive little recognition. Karl's personal sculptural work portrays his love of elegant design, while expressing his deep faith in God. He mixes bronze, stone, and wood to achieve his uniquely beautiful style. He currently lives in Arizona, where he draws off of southwestern culture and lore as inspiration for his sculptures.
